Cats especially become intoxicated and captivated when they sniff this plant mainly due to an ingredient called nepetalactone which helps calm nerves, promotes restful sleep and helps cats who are anxious and nervous. Well known as a feline-euphoric, cats are often seen enjoying themselves by rubbing themselves on this fresh and dried plant rolling in it in ecstasy and purring.
Catnip-infused sunflower oil this is cat and dog friendly. Is often self -selected by dogs as it works on the nervous system and stomach. It is a calming agent and mild sedative and helps relax dogs when they are nervous or anxious. From my observations dogs do not exhibit the “euphoric” behaviour tendencies we sometimes see from cats self-selecting Catnip infused sunflower oil.
